2644.0. "Saving different DECterm settings" by BAHTAT::HILTON (Two in the box ready to go) Tue Apr 24 1990 05:08

    Hiya,

    Scenario:

Every day on start up I fire up 3 DECterm windows.

I then resize each one differently, position them differently and call each
    one a different name.

Can I make this automatic ie have saved settings for DECterm1, DECterm2
    etc etc

    Many thanks, in anticipation.

Yes, you can do it. Save the customize settings for each window
under a different name. Use the Save Current Settings As... option
of the customize window to do this. Next, create three application
definitions. You can copy the DECterm CREATE/TERM application
definition, but add the /RESOURCE qualifier to each one, and use
one of your saved attributes files from above. Add these to your
autostart menu, and you are in business.

                Dave
2644.2Can also do it without resource filesSTAR::VATNEPeter Vatne, VMS DevelopmentTue Apr 24 1990 13:044
You can also position the DECterms with qualifiers on the CREATE/TERMINAL
command (you need to be running at least VMS V5.3, I believe). The
qualifer /WINDOW_ATTRIBUTES can be used to set the X and Y position of
the window, as well as its height, width, colors, titles, and font.

    Cheers,

Is this documented anywhere? ie what /window_attributes you can use.

    Thanks,

I don't know if any of the manuals have been updated yet, but you can
easily find out about this stuff with

	$ HELP CREATE/TERMINAL/WINDOW_ATTRIBUTES
