Hello folks, I have a problem with the two vms-parameters defmbxbufquo and DEFMBXMXMSG. I have a customer that has put these parameters to defmbxbufquo = 8094 DEFMBXMXMSG = 4096 He gets the same fenomene as discribed in note fieview 58 I tried it here myself, and decwindows didn't even come up prob. The server was looping and I didn't get the loggin-logo. What parameters must also be adjusted for these two. Can decwindows run with default values like those. Thanks in advance, Chris Roets

Usually mailbox size and quota problems are BYTLM related. You will probably have to raise your BYTLM up, the SYSTEM account's BYTLM, and maybe even the two PQL params. I don't remember where I picked this up from, but for a DECwindows system, good values seem to be 100,000 for the accounts, and at least 38,000 for the PQL params. These values, although high, have served me well on my VAXstation. Dave |
