2548.0. "Right hand/Left Hand Mouse operation" by TARKIN::AHO (Skeet addict...) Fri Mar 30 1990 16:45

I've just found a problem which may be just local as it works
on some workstations and doesn't on others. I have a Vaxstation
3100 running VMS 5.3-1 and Decwindows V2.0. In the session manager
I select customize pointer and select left handed and then apply.
My pointer moves but I cannot select anything via the MB3 which
is now supposed to be MB1. It works on some of my workstations
and doesn't on others... Any ideas??

				Thanks in advance,

This was a problem in 5.3-1 field test software. I suspect some of your ws's
were not upgraded to the final SSB version.

Sorry I guess my original note was unclear. All of the
workstations are on a MIVC (Common system disk) running SSB
	V 5.3-1....

						Thanks for any help,

2548.3more problem - no fixesCRONIC::LIVINGSTONEInfomaniacMon Apr 02 1990 17:5711
    I have same/similar problem. We're running SSB VMS V5.3 {kit from CD
rom}. When trying to figure it out, noticed that some of the drivers
in SYS$LOADABLE_IMAGES had different dates/sizes than on another
cluster where that kit was also used. In particular GAADRIVER and the
I*DRIVER were different. Think a DECimages kit was installed after
the V5.3 upgrade and may be the source of the different drivers. Was
planning to re-install DECwindows tomorrow night as copying the driver
files and rebooting didn't restore functionality. If theres a better
    way I'm all eyes.

Well it wasn't DECimage. At this point I don't think it was a kit
installed after the upgrade. The offending files are version;2 and have
    a creation date of 20-DEC-1989 1:30:%%.%. I used DECW$TAILOR to
re-install DECwindows. Just doing an "ON" replaced only version;1
copies of the files and left the higher versions. Am deleting higher
versions by hand. Is it possible that the upgrade also doesn't remove
    all versions of the files?

The duplicate files were some of the CDA*, DDIF*, G%%DRIVER, I%DRIVER,
DECW$SERVER_MAIN.EXE files. Well off to see if this did any good.

PS - Looked at files in DECimage kit and they aren't the above. Very
sorry I implied there was something amiss with DECimages!
