2538.0. "Interline spacing in simple text widgets" by PEACHS::BELDIN () Wed Mar 28 1990 17:47
Is there a way to change the default interline spacing (leading?)
between items in a scrollable simple text widget? Apparently,
something has changed between DECwindows V1.0 and V2.0 that
changed the interline spacing on these widgets. On V2.0
the spacing seems to be almost half the height of the font ,
while in V1.0 the spacing seems about 1 or 2 pixels at the most.
The customer who showed us this problem has a large application
in which many simple text widgets are used. The appearance
has changed because of the interline spacing and now they
have widgets that overlap, ect... I have managed to duplicate
it using UIL and C, while the customer is using ADA and low
level widget calls... Margin_height doesn't have any effect on
the spacing betweens lines in the same widget, rather the borders
on the top and bottom of the widget...
I suggested that he use rows and columns rather than width and
height - is this the recommended solution? Is there a way to
tell the widget that you don't want that spacing, or is that
hard-coded in?
