| I have 125 files in mine, and they total 729K. You won't get an enormous
amount of space by deleting them. Also setld -d won't do it because a lot
of those subsets aren't installed, I'll bet. Unless you're really cramped
and can't get rid of any installed subsets, don't bother.

2500.2 | Check the release notes | VOGON::DRUMGOOLE | Third Party Applications Group | Wed Mar 28 1990 18:41 | 8 |
| The release notes for 2.2 give a script to blow away the unsused or
uneeded subsets before installation. I don't have the release notes
with me now but they should be on guru:: somewhere. (guru:: is an
ULTRIX node).

| Well, you've gotten two different answers here.
I think you're asking specifically about files in /usr/etc/subsets. Most of
those are quite small and deleting inappropriate files from there can cause
you problems. Be careful if you try to do it! If you happen to be feeling
lucky today then I'd suggest that you only remove the files matching
UDW*02[01].*
Don't touch other files there, you'll probably regret it.
I assume that you've read your release notes and see how to remove the older
subsets for UWS 2.0 and 2.1.
