2492.0. "FileView Print Widget -- debug or verify mode?" by SCAACT::RESENDE (Just an obsolete child) Wed Mar 21 1990 17:33

I was re-directed here from the FileView conference .....

I'm experiencing a wierd problem with DECW V2 and the print widget.
    We're running VMS 5.3.

For the past two days, I've been unable to print files from the
FileView print widget. I can go through the motions, but the job is
never entered into the queue. I've tried HOLDING the job, but it never
    makes the queue.

Is there anyway to get FileView to enter a debug/verify mode so I can
figure out WHY print seems to be NOPing. There's no known change to
the environment to explain this, so I'm stumped!

I have no help other than if it is a print widget problem then you
may want to ask someone in the CLT::PRINT-WIDGET conference. :^)

You say "for the past two days...". Does that mean that it used to work and
only recently failed?

Yes, now it's been almost two weeks. I used to print fine. Now, it
just ignores my print request, treats it as a NOP. I've been looking
around for a change in my local environment, but haven't found it.
Other users booted from the same cluster are NOT having the problem.

Wasn't aware of the print-widget conference. I'll try over there.

    Thanks,
    Steve
