2484.0. "Standard benchmark needed?" by HGOVC::JIMMYCHAN () Tue Mar 20 1990 20:59
My customer is looking for some benchmark programs from outside world
which can directly run on both DECstations and Sun workstations in
order to compare the performance, where can I get these benchmark
software for evaluating which machine is more powerful.
They would like to test on two vendors' machine X window
implementation, screen update, integer manipulation, floating point,
file I/O, 2D graphics and TCP/IP communication.
I am wondering are there any these kind of benchmark software open to
the users?
Thanks in advance,
Jimmy

2484.1 | X11Perf | STAR::ORGOVAN | Vince Orgovan | Fri Mar 23 1990 16:45 | 6 |
| There is a program called X11Perf distributed by MIT as part of
their X11 releases that can be used to measure various aspects
of graphics performance on any X11 server.
Digital Review uses X11Perf as the basis of their benchmarks
for comparing X terminals.
