We've a MicroVAX II (630QB-A2) running VMS V5.3. DECWindow has been
installed. However, when the system is booted up, the following
messages are displayed :
%DECW-W-NODEVICE, No graphics device found on this system
%DECW-I-NODECW, DECWindows graphics drivers will not be loaded
Does it mean that DECWindow cannot be run on the old MicroVAX II?
Is there any remedy? Thanks.

| 2471.1 | %DECW-W-SYSGEN WINDOW_SYSTEM parameter must be 1 | STAR::BECK | Paul Beck | Mon Mar 19 1990 17:42 | 5 |
If it's what I ran into recently, it's a particularly egregious case of
a mis-named error message.
Make sure your SYSGEN parameter WINDOW_SYSTEM is correctly set to 1.

ANd also make sure you have graphics hardware. | |||||

I notice that you say "MicroVAX II", not "VAXstation II". If it is
really a MicroVAX (i.e. without graphics hardware) then you will get
this message. You can still run applications and have them display on
a workstation or X terminal over the network.
