We have seen a problem today where a customer has upgraded to v5.2 VMS from V5.02, Previously customer had been using the Font Utility to down line load fonts to a LN01 laser printer. Now he is finding that the utility fails when it tries to execute a font/assign command. The error recd is invalid qualifier /ASSIGN/. There seems to be a conflict between the font compiler provided by DECWindows and the font utility supplied for font down line loading. Both are attempting to use the same command verb. Would reinstalling the Font Utility cause problems, ie redefining font command. I can see that you wouldn't be able to compile fonts , but are there any other `side effects' or problems you would expect to see. I have posted this in the Fonts and DECWindows conferences. Thanks in advance for any help or comments. Simon A

I believe reinstalling the Font Utility will have no effect on DECwindows other than rendering the Font Compiler unusable. Thanks for reporting this. I suggest you enter a QAR in DECWINDOWS-IFT to remind us to do something about this. |
