    One of my customer wants to use DECsystem to run an application and
    display it on VAXstation.  As far as I know, the OS of DECsystem is
    ULTRIX, not UWS, so in order to run X application, does DECsystem
    needed to install DECwindows or at least load X library into it?
    
    ULTRIX operating system does not include X library, right?
    I cannot find any documentation on the manual describing X library.
    But from the SYSTEMS AND OPTIONS CATALOG (page 1B 31), it does describe
    that operation system ULTRIX-32 includes X User Interface client, why
    is that?
    
    I am confuse.

But there is a distribution for loading UWS subsets to a DECsystem. You will need to order " ULTRIX WS V2.0 (RISC)" SUPPORTED BASE" "AQ-NC14A-BE" . Please pay careful attention to the exact spellings. If you want UWS WS 2.1 or 2.2, let the SDC people know about it. Another caution - Do not use the UWS 2.1 and 2.2 upgrades on a DECsystem without reading the release notes carefully. The ULTRIX documentation, patches, and other info is on node GURU. Yes, to run an X/UWS applications on a DECsystem xxxx, you will
have to install UWS subsets on the DECsystem host.

For a DECsystem, no.  But there is a distribution for loading
