2411.1 | What's the problem? | STAR::VATNE | Peter Vatne, VMS Development | Thu Mar 08 1990 14:31 | 4 |
| This looks like a normal server error log. What problem are you seeing?
Note that the bad status DECW$MONITOR_DENSITY is a known bug, and is
completely harmless.

2411.2 | I shortened the log file. | CRBOSS::JOHNSON | | Fri Mar 09 1990 11:33 | 10 |
| We attempt to log in and we never get in. Also the error log I placed
in the initial note is only a few lines of a 2300 block file. Which
took less than an hour for the system to create.
The following message was the entire log file except for the beginning
lines and ending lines of the log file. I shortened it just putting 2
lines in the note.

2411.3 | Check GLBPAGES | STAR::VATNE | Peter Vatne, VMS Development | Fri Mar 09 1990 14:00 | 5 |
| Ok, attempting to log in and then getting stuck can happen when you
don't have enough global pages. Check SYSGEN parameter GBLPAGES.
There are other notes in this conference dealing with this.
Note: the "extra todo packet pool" message is harmless.

2411.4 | More info on Glen Johnson problem | CRBOSS::COLBATH | | Mon Mar 12 1990 17:19 | 9 |
|
Here is a little more info on the problem that Glen Johnson is having with
a satellite bring up DECwindows. Where the satellite is booted and it has
the login window asking for the username at the start session screen. The
cursoris blinker at the username prompt. If you type any (one) character on the
keyboard the cursor stops blinking and the screen is frozen from then on.
There is lots of GLBPAGES and GLBSECTIONS. The mouse moves around ok.
