2397.0. "Losing fonts with DECW V2" by GOIVIT::ALDEN (Ken Alden) Wed Mar 07 1990 03:39

At some random times, I find that my server seems to be "losing" fonts. Just
exactly what that means is that fonts that were once available, no longer are
found. The first ones to go are found in the bookreader books, pages 1-4.
Eventually, I'm down to only a few fonts, which mainly are the terminal fonts.

I'm running v5.3-1, on a 3200/gpx. However I just saw it happen to a V5.3 vs2000
(mfb) as well. Has this been QARed?

Thanks,
-Ken

    It's not familiar to me. What do you mean "Loose". Do you get junk
    when you try to display? Do you get a BadFont error when you try to
    open the font?  Other?

I meant lose, Burns. Sorry. When the font gets "lost", I start seeing pages
in my bookreader without words. Applications begin reporting 'font-not-found'.

2397.3Does not sound familiarPROTO2::FISHERBurns Fisher 381-1466, ZKO3-4/W23Fri Mar 09 1990 11:398
Actually, it was my typo. I was not trying to comment on spelling. Only
trying to find out more about the symptoms, which you provided.

I've never seen nor heard of any of this. I suggest that you look in the server
log and see if you seen any errors. That would be
SYS$MANAGER:DECW$SERVER_0_ERROR.LOG or *_OUTPUT.LOG.
