Well, I can't say what the problem might be, I know there were a few
problems with printing from paint in DECwindows V1. It might be something
with the way the que is set up. But paint shouldn't crash at any rate. I
suggest installing VMS5.3 which will give you DECwindows V2. This should
resolve all problems.

2338.4 | I just saw this note and it rung a bell. | BSS::T_NORWOOD | | Fri Mar 16 1990 11:17 | 6 |
| I have seen problems with DECpaint crashing if there are a "lot" of
queues. I don't know what the threshold number is, but using the
DECW$PRINTER_FORMAT_* logicals to group your printers by type (like
text, PS, ReGIS, Tektronix, etc.) should fix that.

2338.5 | 100 queue limit | R2ME2::GRASS | Steve Grass | Mon Mar 19 1990 11:21 | 5 |
| Due to a problem in the print widget, DECpaint (or any other app using the
widget) would crash in DECWINDOWS V1 if the system had > 100 queues. This
was fixed in DW V2.
