I am having a problem when I open NOTEPAD and MAIL from a FILEVIEW
menu.
If I open a notepad, edit it, then exit and save to a file
it works fine.
If mail is running along with notepad, when I exit the
edited notepad and try to save it to a file I get the error "NO
PERMISSION TO WRITE TO THIS FILE", I have checked the
protection/ownership of the directories. Everything looks fine. This
only happens in an unpriv'ed environment.
When I try to create/send mail from a fileview menu, nothing happens,
yet, if I "SHOW OUTPUT" from the work in progress menu, I get a stack
dump??
Both of these problems only occur when running from a fileview menu, if
I start them up from a DECterm window they run fine....
I am running V5.3 of VMS.
Can anyone shed some light????

| It might be a quota problem, specifically the open file limit.
Try increasing FILLM.
