2309.0. "xt$override_translations ACCVIO: bug or feature?" by TAV02::GAN () Tue Feb 20 1990 09:09
One of our customers is trying to use
xt$overide_translation in his application.
When this is used on a widget which has no translation
table yet, the image ACCVIO.
I've showed him the that the documentation says that
for a completely new translation table, one should use
SET VALUE with xtNtranslation. But he says that:
A. He heard that this is a known bug in X that had been
fixed in the last version.
B. He says that a user should be able to modify his application
using a resource file. Since the user do not(?) know if
a certain widget has translation table or not, the ACCVIO
should not occur. As an example, try add the following file
to your default directory with the name EXAMPLE.DAT and run
the DECBURGER from DECW$EXAMPLES:
*translations: #override \n\
Ctrl<Key>e: end-of-line()\n\
Ctrl<Key>j: delete-previous-word()\n\
Ctrl<Key>h: beginning-of-line()\n\
Ctrl<Key>r: redraw-display()\n\
Ctrl<Key>u: delete-to-start-of-line()\n
you will get the ACCVIO error.
Is the ACCVIO a bug or a feature? is it going to be fixed and when?
Thanks in advance - Ofer Gan
