2271.0. "DS3100 UWS 2.1 color screen dump to postscript" by TOWNS::BAGWILL (Zembu wakatta!) Wed Feb 14 1990 12:18

A customer running UWS 2.1 on a DECstation 3100 wants to dump the
screen to a QMS color PostScript printer. The session manager "capture
screen" only creates a black-and-white bitmap image. How can he dump
color? Does UWS 2.2 do this? Thanks.

No, UWS 2.2 doesn't have color Postscript screen dump support. The
    printscreen library doesn't support it.

Perhaps someone out there knows of a separate application that provides
    color Postscript print screen support?

I know another way, is to do an "xwd" window dump and then do
an "xpr" , but don't try to do postscript. "xpr" has options
for different ink jet printers and plotters.

                  Extended Portable Bitmap Toolkit
                      Distribution of 22nov89
                   Previous distribution 13sep89

Included are a number of programs for converting various image formats
to and from portable formats; plus some tools for manipulating the
portable formats. The package is broken up into four parts (five parts
if you count this one, the zeroth part). First is PBM, for bitmaps (1
bit per pixel). Then there is PGM, for grayscale images. Next is PPM,
for full-color images. Last, there is PNM, which does content-independent
manipulations on any of the three formats.
