Is it possible to move a window using the title bar and have its children move to (either while the parent is moving or after it has been positioned?) For Example I have a main_window widget for my parent. This main_window produces a popup_dialog_box. The customer would like to be able to move the main_window and have the popup_ dialog_box follow. I did a dir/title= on servearl titles but could not see any notes pertaining to this topic. Any Ideas or answers would be appreciated.. CER

There is no mechanism currently built into either the window manager or the toolkit to make this easy. The Motif window manager has discussed adding such a feature in the future, but it's probably a year or two away at least. In the mean time, if you *really* think you need to do it, you can by watching for the events that signify that the main window shell has moved, and then moving the popup yourself. I've seen a number of notes on how to find out that a shell has moved, but I don't remember where... Leo |
