Hi. I have got a customer who has trouble with calling "XLoadQueryFont." She is using VMS V5.3. She could use the DEC Terminal emulator fonts by calling XLoadQueryFont in previous releases of VMS. But, in VMS 5.3, the call does not work and returns NULL. She says "xlsfonts" shows the requested font to be present. She needs a workaround or some equivalent non-proportional fonts. Also, she wants to know why VMS engineering has changed things. Please anyone help!! Thank you in advance. junko hayashi

She is using C language. She found the difference in some fonts between V5.2 and V5.3. When dump the file SYS$COMMON:[SYSFONT.DECW.100DPI]TERMINAL_BOLD14_100DPI.DECW$FONT V5.3 contains a string -Bitstream-Terminal-Bold-R-Normal--18-140-100-100-c-11-ISO8859-1 V5.2 contains a string -Bitstream-Terminal-Bold-R-Normal--20-140-100-100-C-11-ISO8859-1 Same is the file TERMINAL_BOLD_NARROW14_100DPI.DECW$FONT. A little bit confusing. Thank you for trying to answer. -junko |
