2209.0. "Capture screen gives file I/O error." by CSC32::NOLL () Mon Feb 05 1990 18:10
I am trying to troubleshoot a problem with the Session Manager. We
have a customer running VMS 5.1B (Desktop VMS). When they attempt to
use one of the capture screen options from the the "Print Screen" menu
of the Session Manager, they get an error message "file I/O error" in
a pop up window. The Session Manager process is not terminated. They are
using the default file spec. for the file to contain the captured screen
information (SYS$LOGIN:DECW$CAPTURE.TMP I beleive). The user can
create files in SYS$LOGIN directory from a DCL window with no problems.
I am trying to find out where I can get more information on the "file
I/O error". For example, is this a diskquota error, file protection
error, or RMS error? Where does DECwindows actually log information
on the low level error which generates the generic "file I/O error"
message?
Thanks for any help or suggestions,
Paul
