    I have an error similar to that of note 2032 but his solution
    did not help me.
    
    I just installed VMS 5.2 on a VS3100 and on boot up I got an error
    that a file :
    			VFDRIVER.EXE was missing from [sysexe].
    
    after that I get the error 
    
    	%DECW-W-NODEVICE, No graphics found on this system
        -DECW-I-DODECW, DECwindows graphics drivers will not be loaded
    
    After booting up I looked for sys$system:[sysexe]modparams.dat
    and the file was nowhere. I found PARAMS.DAT and it had the 
    
    WINDOW_SYSTEM=1 in it.
    
    I guess I am asking if the missing file is related,
    and if someone can tell me why I dont have a MODPARAMS.DAT
