2200.0. ""Squared" character in a label" by TOWNS::RUFFIEUX () Mon Feb 05 1990 10:49

Does anybody know how I can add the "squared" character into a label.

I wish to print out a label like so 'MAG 2' but with a small 2 and
also in a raised position. Any ideas would be appreciated..

There are two ways: from the keyboard, or from an editor.

First, you must find out how the Compose Character function is
implemented on your keyboard. Then, after entering that function,
type the uparrow character (^) and the 2 or 2 then ^.

    or

Use your favorite editor to create the character with the decimal
    value 178.

I've searched, but to no avail, I cannot find any documentation
on the "Compose Key". If it is not too much to ask, can someone
write me on how to enter the compose function....

    Thanks..

    Nevermind, I figured it out:

    (<Compose><space>) ^ 2 gives you

If you are using DECterm in DECwindows environment then you can do
the following key strokes to get the .

Press the 'Compose' key and do not release it.
Now press the 'space bar' and let go the space bar.
Now let go the 'Compose' key.

    	You are in Compose mode.
    	Now press '2' key
    	Press the ^ key.

NOTE: 'Compose' key might have a lable "ALT"
