I've seen a lot of notes in this conference regarding methods of getting messages sent to the Session Manager window, but what about a technique for doing the opposite? A customer is using a third-party package which submits batch jobs with the /NOTIFY qualifier. When the job completes, completion messages are being sent to the Session Manager's window. (This happens quite often as the customer has a number of users that log-in under the same Username.) Is there a command file somewhere that can be used to disable these messages from being displayed? (That is, I need to do a $SET BROADCAST=NOQUEUE for the Session Manager's window.) Any help, pointer, etc. are greatly appreciated. Frank

I think that putting the command in DECW$LOGIN.COM should do it.. mike | |||||

There are a few OPCOM2DECW command files available. They show how to set up the session manager's terminal. When the command file is spawned from DECW$LOGIN, it waits for the terminal to be created. (This is why I don't think a SET TERM or SET BROADCAST by itself will not work.) The file then does some OPCOM set up which you can delete, and then it enables some broadcast types. Change this to what you want. -JP |
