I originally posted the following in the Decwindows Mail conference, but was
pointed to the DW programming conference. In addition, I am posting here, hoping
for a faster response...
I'll appreciate any help I can get,
thanks,

Note 417.0 dxmail and decwindows toolkit(ultrix) 1 reply

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am asking the following question, even though I feel that this is not the most
appropriate conference. My apologies.
In the ultrix version (V3.1, (Rev 9) UWS 2.1) of my application, I use a
pulldown menu entry as a menu item which has a submenu. The submenu is a
pulldown menu with pushbuttons as children. When my application comes up for the
first time, I set the pd menu entry sensitivity to be false. The pd menu entry
shows up grayed, but the submenu hotspot pixmap is live, and the submenu shows
up when the mouse pointer is positioned on the pixmap. This is obviously a
bug in the toolkit.
However, I was playing with dxmail, and noticed that they have a similar live
submenu pixmap along with a grayed out menu item; and when the mouse is over the
pixmap, no submenu showed up! This is probably a workaround, and I would like
to hear from the developers of dxmail or toolkit devo's about this...
Since, I don't know who the specific developers are, I am posting my question
in this notesfile.
I will appreciate any help in this regard,
thanks,
jay
