| What would you like to know? SOFTPC is an MSDOS emulator which allows
you to run "standard" MSDOS applications on a workstation. I'm running
it on a DS3100 and it seems to have pretty good response.
Since VAXPC is being "retired" I assume that SOFTPC will take its place
(I understand it runs on a VAX also). I hope it runs a little faster
than VAXPC though (that was a dog on a VS3100, and I wouldn't have
recommended it to anyone).
If you're checking this out for a customer then I'd try a VMS version
of SOFTPC to see what kind of speed you get. If its not very
respectable I'd look at the LOGICraft boxes instead.
FYI - SOFTPC runs with DECwindows.

SOFTPC has versions for Ultrix, VMS - DECwindows and UIS. So it
pretty much has our WS hardware & software covered.

Thank you for a quick response. I didn't realise that SOFTPC was available
for the VS3100. Where can I get a copy of this s/w? Does it run under
VMS 5.1?
