2130.0. "Problems with XPASTE ???" by VICKI::DODIER () Wed Jan 24 1990 15:25

    	I have a PVAX1 Model 48 with the new 8-plane graphics co-processor
    known as SCANPROC (WS01X). It's running VMS T5.3-1.

    	When I use XPASTE to paste an image to the screen, it puts the
    image up but if I try to iconize/de-iconize or move it, the window
    goes completely black. Also, the PASTE xxxxxx.RGB -Root command
    doesn't work at all.

	I have editted the XPASTE.COM to change the lines pointing to
    the directory with the xxxxxx.RGB and XPASTE.EXE files and executed
    XPASTE.COM.

    Anyone have any suggestions on a fix or where to start looking ???

One recomendation is to upgrade to the SSB kit of V5.3-1,
and see if that may fix it.
2130.2Does anyone have XPASTE sourcesDECWIN::ROSENBLUMThu Feb 01 1990 11:117
I looked in the DW_EXAMPLES notesfile, but nobody posted a location of the
sources to XPASTE.

I believe this is an application problem dealing with the black pixel and white
pixel being 0 and 255 respectively, but I will need to see the code to make sure

2130.3After some further lookingDECWIN::ROSENBLUMFri Feb 02 1990 08:3510
It seems that the version of XPASTE that I have fails to associate the colormap
with the window it just uses the default.

When you click on any window in the system the window manager installs the
color map of the window. Since XPASTE leaves the colormap for it's window set
to the default, you will get the default colors.

I have had much better luck with XPAN also from the DW_EXAMPLES notes file.
