2129.0. "DECW$KILLSERVER0.COM" by TLE::REAGAN (Pascal, A kinder and gentler language) Wed Jan 24 1990 14:29

    I'm running VMS V5.3-1.  I noticed a file called DECW$KILLSERVER0.COM
    in SYS$MANAGER:. Its contents are wierd...

    $STOP/id=0000002C
    $@sys$manager:decw$startup ""
    $exit

    It surprises me that a Digital-supplied command file would have
    a /ID=xxxx hardcoded into it. (My machine doesn't have a PID of 02C
    at the moment. My server is something else...).

    My questions... Where did this file come from? (It has a creation
    and modification date of Feb-1989). Can I delete it?

    I believe that file is generated when you restart DECwindows, and
    then it is executed in a detached process.

The file is created on the fly by DECW$STARTSERVER.COM when you ask to
restart the server.

    That it isn't deleted should be fixed.

I agree with this sentiment. However, this is unlikely to be fixed
unless it is QARed. I encourage the original author to do so.
