Maybe somebody can help me with a problem I'm having with VMS privs... this is what I am doing. I start out on an ULTRIX workstation (WLBURY), and do a dlogin over to a VMS system (HOTAIR). Once logged into the VMS system I do the following command $ WYVUE (defined in LOGIN.COM) $ WYVUE :== RUN/DETACH/PROCESS=GPB_WYVUE/AUTHORIZE - /INPUT=ub:[boyles.com]WYVUE.COM - /OUTPUT=ERROR.WYVUE/ERROR=ERROR.WYVUE - /PRIV=(TMPMBX,NETMBX,SETPRV) - SYS$SYSTEM:LOGINOUT.EXE $ !+++++ $ ! Procedure: WYVUE.COM $ !----- $ SET DISPLAY/CREATE/NODE=WLBURY::0/TRANSPORT=DECNET $ RUN SYS$SYSTEM:VUE$MASTER $ SET DISPLAY/NOPERM $ EXIT Now the net result is that a VMS/HOTAIR Fileview comes up on my ULTRIX workstation display... which just works fine. The problem: If I run a DECterm through the remote fileview, everything comes up as it should (i.e. DECterm display on WLBURY) EXCEPT THE PRIVELEGES... I only end up with TMPMBX and NETMBX, and not the authorized privs allowed by my VMS system. Can someone please tell me where I am going wrong. Thanks. Gary Boyles

2114.1 | Privileges dialog box? | DECWIN::KLEIN | Tue Jan 23 1990 14:41 | 8 | |
When you go into the "Privileges" dialog box in FileView, what does it look like? Are the buttons grayed-out? If they are not grayed out, you simply need to set your privileges on and do a "Save Startup View". If they are grayed out, then we need to dig a little deeper. -steve- |
