2113.1 | Font file could be messed up | STAR::VATNE | Peter Vatne, VMS Development | Tue Jan 23 1990 14:19 | 10 |
| Assuming that you are using 75 DPI fonts, and also that you are not using the
bold, italic, or bold italic versions of the 18 pt. Times font, then the file
you should check is SYS$COMMON:[SYSFONT.DECW.75DPI]TIMES_ROMAN18.DECW$FONT.
You should be able to compare this file with a good font file from another
workstation. If the files are not the same, copy the font file from the
other system, and reset the server by logging out and in again.
If you don't have access to another workstation, you can always try
re-installing the font files by running SYS$UPDATE:DECW$TAILOR.

2113.3 | Bad DECwindows font file? | SARAH::RAMSHAW | | Mon Jan 29 1990 15:30 | 12 |
| There does seem to be a problem with this font file i.e.
sys$common:[sysfont.decw.75dpi]times_roman18.decw$font
The size of the space character went from 4 pixels in V1.0 (DECwindows)
to 11 pixels in V2.0. The space width in the bold font is still 4
pixels under V2.0.
I have successfully fixed the problem by copying the V1.0 font file to
my workstation. Is this a reasonable thing to do? Will DECwindows
V2.0 work properly with a V1.0 font file?

2113.4 | Please QAR this | STAR::VATNE | Peter Vatne, VMS Development | Mon Jan 29 1990 16:34 | 4 |
| If you think the font file TIMES_ROMAN18.DECW$FONT is broken, and not just
a bad copy from tape, I suggest you QAR this.
I know of no reason why you can't use V1.0 font files with the V2.0 server.
