Can anyone please tell me why an ANALYZE/RMS of a cardreader file gives the following error : +++ . . File Monitoring: disabled Global Buffer Count: 0 *** VBN 13: Last stream record does not contain a delimiter. Unrecoverable error encountered in structure of file. The analysis uncovered 2 errors. --- This applies to all the card files I've tried under both v1 and v2 DECwindows (VMS v5.1-B/5.2/5.3). All the files work fine but I was wondering if there's a simple explanation. (eg., is ANA/RMS slightly behind the times ? _Should_ there be a delimiter on the last stream record ?) [ Sorry if this has been mentioned before but nothing useful turned up from DIR/TITLE=CARD, DIR/TITLE=RMS or keyword CARDFILER ] Thanks for any information, Frank

It's because the cardfiler files have the STREAM_LF RMS attribute, but there is not a trailing LF character after the last record. This is totally harmless. --PSW |
