2068.0. "UIL compiler crash with a lot of imports." by TMIS01::DORON (Doing my BEST !!!) Thu Jan 18 1990 05:09

Hi,

Is there a limit in the UIL compiler for the number of imports? A customer of
my having 150 imports (in 2 included UIL files) and when trying to compile (UIL)
them, the compiler crashes with a stack dump.

Does any body knows about a limit/required resources concerning this problem?

				Thanks,

I'm not aware of any limits on the number of UIL imports, but I
doubt that the boundary conditions have been stressed. Please file
a QAR in the DECWINDOWS-IFT database on TRIFID, username
    QAR_INTERNAL password QAR.

Before QARing check the user parameter FILLM. On many system its set to 60
which may be part of the problem.

And its corresponding SYSGEN parameter, CHANNELCNT. FILLM can only
be as high as CHANNELCNT, so make sure both are set up well over 150
(I'd try at least 175 or so for what you've described).

Compilers aren't supposed to crash. There supposed to give a nice
error message and exit. So file that QAR anyway.
