Are there any essential differences between 100dpi and 75dpi fonts? I'm trying to load what are probably 75dpi fonts on a 100dpi server. I have the BDF sources for these fonts. Currently, when I compile them, restart my server and list the fonts, I get strange effects (for one thing, the first character of each of the font names is missing). Sometimes the server dies. I don't care if the fonts are too small when displayed. Is there some simple change I can make to the sources to allow these things to load? Thanks.

No, there is no difference in the font file structure if that is what you mean. Its just that the glyphs are designed to look good on the appropriate density, and the metrics are scaled as appropriate. Burns |
