Is there any limitation on allocating private color maps, or using direct
colors,  when using the PC DECwindows server ?

We have an application which crashes with errors while trying to allocate a
private color map.
The same application runs well when the PC is set up as B & W.
It also runs well on any workstation.

I suspect it has something to do with using direct colors.

	PC DECwindows only supports fixed color (and then only 16 colors). Therefore, when the client application attempts to create a colormap, the server will reply with a "bad match" error. Mike
