2012.1 | maybe this will help... | GSRC::WEST | Variables don't, Constants aren't | Tue Jan 09 1990 11:13 | 10 |
I'm not sure about V2.0 of DECwindows but with V1.0 the resource is in SYS$LIBRARY:DECW$LOGIN.DAT. This resource is : *Login Dialog.LoginBoxLabel.label: Unauthorized Access is Prohibited -=> Jim <=-

I think something has changed from V1.0 because I tried the resource that .1 mentioned and it did not change the "Start Session" line. Mike

The answer must be one of the following : 1. You cannot change it (not supported). 2. Please read the documentation. 3. See note xxx (like 2041.1). 4. We don't know. 5. We don't have time for stupid questions. 6. We don't care, it's your problem not ours. 7. None of the above.

The reason that I don't always answer these notes is because I just don't have time to follow the notes file on a regular basis. I look at it once every couple of months, but that is the best I can do. I do look at my open QARS on a regular basis, so the way to ensure that you get an answer from me is to file a QAR. Otherwise, you may have to wait until I have time to catch up on the notes file. In V2, the label has been put in a UIL file so that it can be translated for our international market. Unfortunately, this means that it cannot be overwritten by a resource in V2. Displaying the node name and sys$announce message in the login box has been on my list of things to do since V1. That would give you the mechanism to do what you are trying to do. I can't promise it for V3, but it will be there someday. |
