1951.1 | From Session Manager Customize button | RWCVAX::COULSON | Roger Coulson - SASE(MSESU) DTN 223-6158 | Wed Dec 20 1989 08:47 | 14 |

No file modifications are necessary. In your "Session Manager" window
click on the "Customize" button and pull down to "AutoStart". The items
in the left hand box are the applications available; the items in the
right hand box are the applications selected to start when a session
starts. If you want multiples, say two DECterms then the entry will
appear multiple times in the right hand box. If you want to remove
"FileView" from "AutoStart" then click on "FileView" in the right hand
box and then click on "OK". Don't forget to then pull down on the
"Customize" button and select "Save Current Settings".

1951.2 | no Autostart for my Session Manager | ESSAY::FRASCINELLA | In the beginning was the Word... | Fri Jan 05 1990 10:56 | 11 |
| Unfortunately, I have a new workstation running VMS V5.2 and I guess
DECwindows V1. The Session Manager has no such thing as Autostart in
the Customize menu. Is .1 talking about DECwindows V2?
My group is temporarily without a system manager, so we're not going to
VMS V5.3 any time soon. Can you translate 1951.1 into DECwindows V1 style
for those of us just learning about DECwindows?
Thanks,
Michael F

1951.3 | Experiment...it is not that deep!! | DECWIN::FISHER | Burns Fisher 381-1466, ZKO3-4/W23 | Fri Jan 05 1990 17:25 | 8 |
| I can't remember what the V1 menu said, but you could only set how many terminal
windows and whether to run fileview.
Experiment with the menu items in the customize menu. (Only those that have
... after them. I know it brings up a dialog box. You probably don't want
to do "save" or "use system defaults" by accident).

As I recall, in V1 you can disable starting FileView by going into the
Session Manager dialog box from the Customize menu.
