| Thank you, but VMS (5.1-1) did not accept CREATE/TERM, and it is
not in HELP. No one at our site knows it.
- Is it only in newer versions? If yes, starting with which one?
- Can I issue it from a machine that is no workstation?
- Must there be any special processes or logicals to do that?

| For VMS V5.1-1 see section 3.1.* in the VMS Version 5.5-1 Release
Notes. It contains a source program(in C) and instructions on how to do
the equivalent of a CREATE/TERMINAL command. I used it for a long time
before the CREATE/TERMINAL command was available.
The best procedure is to submit a command file to batch which creates a
detached process. On the RUN /DETACH command use the /AUTHORIZE switch
and make sure the account's parameters and quotas in the SYSUAF are
correct for DECwindows.
