Can someone explain why it is that when a screen capture is done to a DDIF file and then the the file is brought in to PAINT, and saved from paint, the output file from paint is almost 10 times smaller than the output of screen capture.

Paint writes DDIF images in compressed format, apparently capture screen doesn't. If you have installed the DECimage kit and have access to the IMAGE DCL verb, then the following will also compress your image: $ IMAGE ADJUST/COMPRESS file.DDIF See also the image service conference ( EDWIN::IMAGE_SERVICES I think ) ...Ken |
