1920.0. "DDIF and screen capture - output file sizes" by KAOU79::K_BURECHAILO () Thu Dec 14 1989 15:26

Can someone explain why it is that when a screen capture is done to a DDIF file
and then the the file is brought in to PAINT, and saved from paint, the output
file from paint is almost 10 times smaller than the output of screen capture.

1920.3Image CompressionCADSYS::SLATERTomorrow, you can be anywhere...Sat Dec 16 1989 18:388
Paint writes DDIF images in compressed format, apparently capture screen
doesn't. If you have installed the DECimage kit and have access to the
IMAGE DCL verb, then the following will also compress your image:

	$ IMAGE ADJUST/COMPRESS file.DDIF
