Can anyone help me with DECwindows internationalisation ? DECwindows V2.0 session manager can be customised to function in any one of a number of languages if the language variant is installed. where do I obtain the language variant kits ? how do I install them ? does a customer have to buy each language variant separately ? how do I set up a system for use in an office where choice of language is a matter of personal preference, eg a multinational HO in Switzerland where English/French/German are used in about equal proportions with a smattering of others from around the world ? Thanks in advance. Pauline | |||||

> where do I obtain the language variant kits? They are separate layered products. The translations are in progress now, and so kits are not available today. > how do I install them? When they are available you will install them with VMSINSTAL just like any other layered product. > does a customer have to buy each language variant separately? Yes. > how do I set up a system for use in a office where choice of langauge > is a matter of personal preference, eg a multination HO in > Switzerland where English/French/German are used in about equal > proportions with a smattering of others from around the world? You can install multiple languages on a single VMS system. Each user can choose their preference using the session manager. |
