| The best way to customize fonts for DECwindows Mail is to copy all
the lines containing "font" from DECW$SYSTEM_DEFAULTS:DECW$MAIL.DAT
to your own DECW$MAIL.DAT, then edit those names to get the fonts
you want. The font I prefer for most things is the DECterm narrow
font:
-DEC-Terminal-Medium-R-Narrow--*-140-*-*-C-*-ISO8859-1

1894.2 | Is there a list of font names? | STRIKE::LENGYEL | Gary Lengyel | Tue Dec 12 1989 10:48 | 7 |

Thanks Mike. Do you know where I could find a list of font names? I just have
the DECwindows user's and desktop application guides. Is there a list in perhaps
the programmers guide?
Thanks again,
Gary

But won't you have to re-size your windows to get 80 columns?

Re .3
Yes, you have to resize the windows
In DECW$MAIL.DAT:
MailRead.width: 755
MailSend.width: 755
The above works well for the fonts I now have working:
MailSend*sendWindow*workArea*DwtText.font:
-*-Courier-Bold-Normal--*-140-*-*-*-*-*-1
And I can SEE it, too!

| For V2.0 you shouldn't edit DECW$MAIL.DAT to set window sizes and
positions - just configure the window the way you want it and
do a Save Attributes.
