| You should not get an error like that from lack of memory.
Take a look in your login directory and see if you have a file called
DECW$SM.LOG. This might contain clues which could be entered in a QAR.
Thanks,
Burns

1886.2 | Error info found - maybe. | TOWNS::WURZBERGER | Ron Wurzberger | Thu Dec 14 1989 11:47 | 8 |
| I could not find a file called DECW$SM.LOG, but did find a file
called DECW$SERVER_0_ERROR.LOG. This file contained a transicript of
sorts reqarding activity the server was engaged in. The only entry
that seemed to be error related stated that an error was encountered
when it was found that a logical "DECW$MONITOR_DENSITY" was not defined.
This was the last entry in the file. Any ideas?

1886.3 | Doubtful DECW$MONITOR_DENSITY is your problem | STAR::VATNE | Peter Vatne, VMS Development | Thu Dec 14 1989 17:10 | 5 |
| I don't think that the DECW$MONITOR_DENSITY error message is your problem.
However, it is *extremely* hard to tell what is going on without seeing
the log file itself. Please post the entire contents of the log file.
Are you sure you don't have a SYS$MANAGER:DECW$SM.LOG?

| Actually, that would be SYS$LOGIN:DECW$SM.LOG, (not SYS$MANAGER, unless the
problem happened when logging in as SYSTEM)

1886.5 | Problem resolved. | BALTMD::WURZBERGER | Ron Wurzberger | Fri Dec 22 1989 10:52 | 6 |
| Given that my system checked out okay when running VWS, I went with
the assumption that my VMS/DECW kit was faulty. I acquired another kit
and reinstalled both VMS and DECW. The system now boots as expected.
Thanks for the help.
