1879.0. "arrow keys now move mouse.." by RDF::RDF (Rick Fricchione DLB9-1) Sun Dec 10 1989 15:17

I am currently running t5.3-462 and DECwindows V2.0. About a week
ago, the cursor keys went away. That is, whenever I use them the
window pointer moves, but not the terminal cursor. This is consistent
in both DECterms and things like the mail editor. I don't believe it
    is a DECterm problem.

Did I screw up a sysgen param? (TTY_?)

    Rick

    * I do *NOT* get this behavior on an ordinary terminal LAT'd into
       my system.

Try hitting CTRL/F3. This toggles between normal mouse-mode and a
practically useless mode where the cursor keys move the mouse-pointer,
and the three keys above the cursor-keys act like mouse buttons. When
in "mouseless-mode", the WAIT light is turned on.

1879.2It's painful but I found it *VERY* usefulDDIF::MUNYANSteve Munyan, ZK2-2/O23, DTN 381-2264Tue Dec 12 1989 10:048

It may be "useless" but several years ago it allowed our group to
continue demoing what was then VAXforms (under UIS) on a workstation in
the demo area at IDECUS while we waited for a new mouse to arrive from
    Spitbrook.

I could use this useless mode on a DECstation 3100 (RISC/ULTRIX) right now.
Does it exist?
