Hi, Are the font metric files for DECwindows fonts available or do applications use the postscript AFM files ? Thanks, Vincent.

There are routines at the X level to query font attributes. Besides, printer metrics and screen metrics may not necessarily match. It depends on what you're doing your presentation for, screen or printed output. I forget if DECwrite uses printer or screen metrics, but it certainly used to use the printer metrics to figure out the correct WYSIWYG appearance. John | |||||
