I have come across a rather strange SYSTEM behavior. When I log into my SYSTEM account, the Icon Box never appears. Also, the Banner on the Session Manager Window does not appear, as well as any subsequent banners on windows created from the Session Manager. It only seems to happen on the SYSTEM account. All other user accounts work correctly. This appears to have happened after my upgrade to VMS 5.3 /DECwindows V2. Anybody have any ideas ? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

If you have no Icon Box, it means that the window manager isn't running. Check the Session Manager Customize Window... settings to make sure you're running the default window manager. If you are, then try running the window manager interactively from a DECterm window and report the results: $ RUN SYS$SYSTEM:DECW$WINMGR |
