I have a question concerning the ident field in the image header
for DECW$XLIBSHR.EXE. I'm using that image to determine which
version on DECWINDOWS is installed on a system. The product being
installed required VMS 5.2 and DECWINDOWS 1.0. The following is a
message I received from a user.
> I'm currently running VMS5.2 (don't know how to get BL numbers) with

If I understand correctly, DECW$XLIBSHR.EXE in DECWINDOWS V1.0 has an
ident of "DECWINDOWS V5.2". I looked at the file that comes with
VMS 5.3 and the ident was "DECWINDOWS V5.3".
Can someone please tell me where this user got a copy of DECW$XLIBSHR
that has an ident version on 2.0?

We field tested DECwindows "V2" as a separate layered product on
top of VMS V5.2. The field test kit replaced decw$xlibshr.exe.
The image idents on the FT files look like "DECW T2.0-FT1".
