How is the narrow spacing of the lines obtained in DECterm ? We want to output text into a list box and fail to come down to the spacing that allows to display 80 lines on a screen. We use DECwindows V1 with VMS V5.1-1 and UIL with the font - DEC-Terminal-Bold-R-Normal--14-*-*-*-*-*-*-* and the maximum we get on a screen is about 40 lines, even if the spacing is reduced to 0. However, the solution should be at hand - as shown by every DECterm list box. Who's skilled enough to help us ? Dirk Bade

1790.1 | Even DECterm gets widely spaced list boxes | HANNAH::MESSENGER | Bob Messenger | Mon Nov 27 1989 18:53 | 7 |
Re: .0 The only list box that DECterm uses is the one in the 7-Bit NRCS Selection dialog box, and it has wide spacing. The main text area in the DECterm window is drawn using XDrawImageString calls. -- Bob
1790.2 | Narrow spacing with Toolkit ? | GYPSC::BADE | Tue Nov 28 1989 03:46 | 6
Does this mean we cannot obtain narrow spacing - similar to DECterm - with the Toolkit ? Or is there a workaround ? Thanks for your prompt reply, Dirk

The VLIST widget from the examples notes file will give you closer spacing in a list-box-like widget. HRB |
