1749.0. "Session mgr on X window terminal?" by UTRTSC::KAAIJ (What's this about going upstairs?) Thu Nov 16 1989 04:54
Hi,
Is there a way to start up the session manager on a remote
X Windows terminal from a 8600 running 5.1-1. The terminal
is Decnet compatible. The customer does get some things to
work like the calculator and the calendar. He just doesn't
know if it is possible for the session manager, if so, how?
Regards, Ed.

I'm assuming it's a non-DEC X-windows terminal that has a valid DECnet address
and all on the 8600.
On the the 8600:
set display/create/node="x-windows_nodename" this sets the logical DECW$DISPLAY
run sys$system:vue$master
---You may get a window on the terminal or you may get an error message. Possible
---problems include a munged DECnet hack or a font problem in the server.
---Let us here how it works and what the type of terminal you're working on.
