I have searched the user guide and both decwindows conferences and have not
found this so...
We have a vaxstation ii/gpx with 16mb running VMS5.2 and decwindows in our data
center. We would like for it to run the display programs for NMCC and DCM at all
times, so that operators will see problems if they occur. Under VWS, we would
log in and start the applications but after 60 minutes the screen saver would
clear the screen which was contrary to our needs. Enter Decwindows, where we
can customize the window to remove the screen saver action. I worked with child
to get the windows created and every works from a logged in process, but we
would like to have it automaticly start after a reboot.
Is there any way to start windows from systartup_v5 and not have them wiped
out by the username/password screen???

| Use the decw$startapps.com file (put in the sys$specific sysmgr for the WS).
Comment out: run sys$system:decw$startlogin and put in what you want started!

I guess maybe I shouldn't tell 'em that he could have disabled
screen saver under VWS (by setting the time to 0).
