1711.0. "Customer written bookreader applications??" by GOLETA::GIRLANDO_JA () Thu Nov 09 1989 18:53

    Do we have a toolkit or manual or examples that would help a customer
    write a Bookreader application?

    There's a conference on online bookbuilding on node VAXUUM
    (I believe it's VAXUUM::ONLINE_BOOKBUILDING).  I know there
    is a document to assist in coding for the Bookreader, but it
    may just be "Internal Use Only". Best bet is to check into
    the Notes file - they'll be able to better answer your question
    and there will be a pointer to the document in question.

    Last I knew the bookbuilding tools were ALL Digital Internal Use Only
    and not to be given to a customer under any condition. Perhaps someone
    from CUP can tell us if this is still true. Until then, I'd play it
    safe and not release anything to customers.

I mean...we are allowed to SELL futures (PID), support hacks in the field
(aka ASSETS program), and a whole set of other creative processes to leverage
SLAES in the field via PSS programs.

If we had been selling only what is in the "price-book", we would have been
'dead' by now ;^)
