1705.0. "Question on File manipulations with Decwindows" by RICKS::WENNERS () Thu Nov 09 1989 07:54
I am not sure this is the right place to ask this question but
here goes. I am working on an application using the Xtoolkit and
Decwindows. The problem that I have is trying to read in the contents
of a file to a window so that it can be manipulated.
One way that I thought would be possible was to select the filename
from a list box and open a window with the file contents so it could
be manipulated. Another thought was to have the user type in the
filename and search through the directory and open a window with
the file contents. Once the file is in a window, I would want to
be able to manipulate the file and be able to select things in the
file for more information on.
What I am trying to accomplish is to have an application that
would be able to determine the Widget-Hierarchy in a source code
listing. Basically, you would select the widget from the source
code and ask for more information on that particular widget such
as:
Parents?
Children?
Attributes?
Arguments?
Any help would be appreciated.
