Hello, Is it possible to have 3 VS3100 with VMS DECwindows and 1 mouse/keyboard for all the screens ? For example I would like to run an application on a client which displays windows on a remote VS (I can do this) , click on the client's mouse, and receive the event as an event in the remote VS. If yes, how can I realize it (HD,SW,..) ? If no, what must be changed in DECwindows to obtain the results ? (X server, Window Manager, ....) Thank's in advance for your help Franois

It sounds like your trying to do the same thing as me. I've looked
in HARBOR::DECWINDOWS_PROGRAMMING, Note 26. It seems like somelse has
tried before. They got told about the XSendEvent in the Xlib
documentation. Read the note.
I also have a file of 'interesting' stuff I extracted from the
notesfile that maybe to do with the problem we both have. If necessary
I'll send it ovr to you. It's a bit big though, 400 blocks, I haven't
had a chance to read though it yet.
In the worst possible case I think it may be possible to create a
software interrupt which lets DECWINDOWS think that the mouse button
has been pressed, then windows would create an Xevent for it and
everything will come up rosy.
If I find the solution I'll let you know.
Mike

I've changed the title of this topic to something a little more
meaningful than "is it possible..?".
Please help those looking for similar answers by providing meaningful
titles for topics.
Thanks
