As far as I'm aware, DECterm doesn't implement the "printer port" functions that a VT330 has -- right? Does anyone have any cunning workaround for this? What is needed is to be able to print-screen the text from a DECterm window. The application in question knows how to control the printer port on a real terminal. A second-best would be to have a DECterm-local "print screen" key. The screen image could be put into a file, sent to the console port, or to a queue. The DECwindows session manager "capture portion of screen" is a bit slow for frequent use, we think.

Re: .0 You're right, DECterm doesn't support "print screen". This is discussed in the DECTERM conference (KP7 to select) in notes 329 and 459. The bottom line was that there is no easy way to get a screen dump, but you could write a program using the DECterm widget that did a Select All and then read the selection. -- Bob | |||||

I asked for this as an enhancement in the next realease of DECterm, soemthing that the user could set up, to log the text that comes through the terminal to a file, which then could be printed later. Or, if they could, to a spooled file, that was sent to a printer when the user told the terminal to "stop printing" -bill |
